Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 29, 2026
AirCareGuide is reader-supported. Here is exactly how that works — and what it does not mean.
How affiliate links work
Many of the product links on this site are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and complete a purchase on the destination retailer's site (Amazon, Home Depot, etc.), the retailer pays us a small commission as a referral fee. This costs you nothing — your price is the same as if you went to the retailer directly.
Programs we participate in
- Amazon Services LLC Associates Program — AirCareGuide.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
- Other retailer programs — we participate in several other retailer affiliate programs (Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, AprilAire dealer network, when relevant). Each link is marked the same way and follows the same rules.
What affiliate revenue does not change
Affiliate revenue is the only money we accept on this site. It does not change which products we recommend. We pick products based on:
- Manufacturer specifications
- Energy Star v5.0 certification data
- CPSC recall history (we never recommend a recalled model)
- AHAM and DOE testing standards
- Patterns aggregated from thousands of verified user reviews
- EPA, CDC, and other authority guidance where relevant
If a product with no affiliate program available is genuinely the best pick, we recommend it anyway and link to the manufacturer's site or to a non-affiliated retailer.
How affiliate links are marked
Every affiliate link on AirCareGuide is marked with rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" in the page's HTML, per FTC guidelines and Google's best practices for affiliate sites. Affiliate disclosure text also appears directly next to every affiliate call-to-action button.
What we do with affiliate revenue
Affiliate revenue funds the research, writing, design, hosting, and quarterly updates that keep AirCareGuide running. It pays the people who write the guides. It does not pay manufacturers or anyone else who might bias the recommendations. We are a small, independent publication — not a corporate content farm.
